The inner box was cradled in thick cardboard & secured with plastic wrap. The bottle itself is thick glass. I realized quickly that I've either been using crap or fake evoo. I tried a tsp after opening & wow. It had that bitterness with the peppery after effect. The 2nd time I tried it per the instructions. In a little glass, I swirled it a couple times beforehand and it wasn't near as shocking. I've been using it daily, in pizza dough, sauces & pasta. It's delicious & great quality.
