Hard plastic?** A: It feels more like very stiff cardboard with a light plastic coating on the top. The trays held up nicely for small cookies or donuts. I had to use 2 or 3 trays together to hold 2 1/2 to 4 doz cookies (larger than medium, but not giant). For the price and the number of trays in the pkg I didn't mind. **Q: Do these trays hold up well (not get soggy) with items that are "wet" ie vegetables, cold cuts, etc? Thank you!** A: Cold cuts may work but watery veggies may make the tray sag. You may need to double the trays. They are made of cardboard. **Q: What is the actual size of the flat bottom part?** A: sorry, while I dont have the actual measurement of the flat bottom - it did hold 16 beef sliders comfortably. Also, it was sturdy enough for pass around apps. I used 6 on my buffet table and 4 for pass around apps. They held up really really well. **Q: Can you eat a dinner off these plates?** A: These are more like serving trays then dinner plates. They are perfect for cold and room temperature foods. I used at least 12 of them for my buffet table. For example shrimp cocktail, cruditΓ©s, finger sandwiches, beef sliders, deviled eggs etc. they look great and are sturdy.
