It fits so well that I almost didn't notice it the day after I installed it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost Perfect but One Major Drawback *by G***L on February 22, 2022* This is a great looking bug shield and it was easy to install with four screws supplied with it. However, the installation requires you to permanently remove two weather strips under the front of the hood. The instructions say "the bugshield eliminates the need for weather-stripping," however, it doesn't! At least it doesn't for my model truck, a 2018 Chevy Colorado. After installation, the shield leaves about a 0.5 - 0.75 inch gap where the original weather stripping used to be. That's a gap for letting rain and bugs into the engine compartment as you go down the road. Unfortunately, the original weather stripping cannot be reinstalled after the bugshield is installed -- its press-in fasteners would be too short and the rubber stripping would be too thick once placed over the new bug shield. To address this, I have added weather stripping purchased at a local home improvement store and cut to appropriate thickness to take up the gap. It's still to be determined how well it will hold up though. I did carefully remove the truck's original weather strips and will keep them for reinstallation should I decide to take off the bug shield when I sell my truck someday. The trick to safely removing the strips is simply to pry them off by backing out each press-in fastener with needle-nose pliers or even open scissors. Do not cut or snip the press-in fasteners as they can be reused if you decide to reinstall the weather strips. It's possible that alternative bug shields made by this or other manufacturers that are secured with adhesive rather than screws may not require removal of the vehicle's original weather strips. I'm sure each attachment method has its pro's and con's. I am confident that the screws used for this bug shield make for a very secure and sturdy installation -- it won't come off unless I decide to take it off.
