Here's How *by L***H on Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2015* Just got this today and it streamed video from my screen to the HDMI input on my monitor right away. But it wouldn't charge my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at all; whether while streaming video or not. Even when using the original Samsung wall charger. So I looked on the package and it says USB debugging may need to be turned on. After doing that, it now charges!! Granted, it isn't at the full rate, but a reduced rate as indicated by the red X in the battery icon. Hopefully it will be enough to at least maintain the battery while watching.In order to turn on USB debugging, you'll need to turn on Developer Settings, if you haven't done so already. To do that, go to Settings, General, About Device. Then tap "Kernel Version" about 5 times, which will then enable Developer Mode. Then go to Settings, General, Developer Options and turn on USB Debugging. That should do it.NOTE: The above is for use with Android version 5.02. If you have an older version, I don't think there is a "General" tab, but once you get to Kernel Version follow the steps and it should work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! *by G***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2015* I used this on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5. I was looking for something to be able to display my MKV files from my tablet without needing to stream wireless with laggy or spotty connectivity issues. Of all the ways I have to stream videos, this is my favorite. It worked great on both my 40" and 50" LED TV's. On the 40" I did notice there was a bit of a boarder around the TV screen, but this is a TV viewing area issue that I've noticed with my PS4 as well. The cable works very straight forward, plug in the HDMI, then the USB, and finally the cable to your tablet/phone. I ran youtube, mxplayer, chrome, and netflix just fine. The quality is great. As I mentioned earlier, there was a black boarder on one of my TVs, but that issue was only on that one TV. As far as I can tell, there's no way around that. Which is fine. After a while you don't notice it. Just wanted to make sure it was known that this was of no fault of the cable. Definitely recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Video...great! Hard to watch a movie off your phone if there's no sound. Might as well be just be the yellow composite cable of yesteryear. I figured with HDMI I'd get both picture AND sound! Luckily I have a mini plug input on my Kenwood deck and can come out of my phones ear phone jack to get the sound through my car stereo. Otherwise I would have likely returned this product. The other upsetting thing is that I purposely bought THIS cable because I loved the idea of having the added feature of the attached USB cable to charge my phone during movie playback so I can watch the whole movie without my phone dying on me. Well guess what! It doesn't work! I plugged it into my tv's USB slot. Nothing. So I tried my DC (cigarette lighter) with a USB adapter. Nothing again! I tried a DC to AC 800 watt inverter using a regular wall USB plug. Still nothing!
