The cord is not frayed or damaged. The silver clasp works perfectly and is still shiny. Plus, I am a large man with a big beard and chest hair. A lot of necklaces pull my hair at random times causing discomfort but this is the only necklace that has not done that to me yet. I would recommend this to literally anyone.
