After a half a year, wearing these Mon-Fri primary sitting, and walking about 40 minutes per day, the sides have developed cracks. Original review on receipt: These look good, meet safety toe standards and fairly light. Synthetic, so no worries about inferior leather cracking. So far walking in damp grass seems waterproof, no wet socks. Hooks at higher level make lacing fairly easy. There's stability when walking on uneven surfaces. Enough cushioning not to feel gravel or sharp rocks. Inner sides feel slightly rough at the seams, definitely need thicker wool socks for these. Also, must lace them up tightly to keep feet in place, or your toes will slide forward and feel uncomfortable. I bought my exact size, and that's definitely necessary.
