They're right! Plant-like aliens have invaded Earth, taking possession of humans as they sleep and replicating them in giant seed pods. Convinced that a catastrophic epidemic is imminent, Bennell, in a terrifying race for his life, must warn the world of this deadly invasion of the pod people before it's too late. Review: Not Criterion But Getting There! Influential Sci-Fi Classic Now In Blu Ray! - This is my second Olive Signature purchase the first being their release of "High Noon" which was pretty good and this release of the influential original metaphor for paranoia and the persecution that results for the hysteria recalling the McCarthy Red scare of the time doesn't disappoint. They say history never repeats itself but rhymes and one wonders if this film still remains relevant given today's environment of the "immigrant scare" that seems to permeate some areas of the country with the support of the McCarthy of today? Olive strikes me as the poorer cousin of Criterion as they appear to have the same mission but having owned many Criterion releases myself in terms of picture and sound restoration Criterion still has the edge but as this release shows Olive is catching up. The picture quality is good but not that great but is certainly worth the upgrade from the dvd. Also included is an 8-page booklet containing an essay by Kier-La Janisse. Overall this is a worthy blu ray upgrade release from Olive and should be part of every sci-fi lover's film library. Highly recommended! Review: A decent version of a classic - Never heard of Olive. But they did a decent job. Bought this for the artwork. Very well done but the main reason I bought this was to upgrade from DVD. I must have seen this movie hundreds of times. Not kidding. Its a classic. Has plenty of imitators but no equal. The Nicole Kidman and the Donald Sutherland versions are my two other favs. Was it a ripoff of Heinlines Puppet masters? Who knows? Or cares. What matters is that this is a fine, well made version of the movie, great picture. A bit pricey. But a fine addition to any collection ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Contributor | McCarthy, Kevin, Siegel, Don | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 224 Reviews | | Language | English | | Manufacturer | Olive Films | | Number Of Discs | 1 | | Runtime | 1 hour and 20 minutes | ## Product Details - **Format:** Subtitled - **Genre:** Horror, Science Fiction & Fantasy - **Language:** English - **Number Of Discs:** 1 ## Images ![Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Olive Signature) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71VOdLKwlcL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not Criterion But Getting There!
