Glow paint is glow powder pigments that are suspended in a clear medium. The paint consistency is similar to that of liquid glue, and at times you will probably need to thin it out with water or some kind of paint thinner. Keep in mind that the thicker the paint = the brighter the glow. If you plan on keeping the paint as is, expect to use around 3 coats, and expect use 4 coats or more if you are planning to thin the paint out. 2. The glow paint dries on pretty rough, it’s about as rough as a cheap nail file, but slightly less coarse. In pictures, the green glow paint will sometimes appear sea green and the aqua glow paint will appear more blue than aqua. A little goes a long way. In regards to both of the glow paints, the green all around is slightly better than the aqua when it comes to the brightness and the longevity of the glow. My one complaint is that there are other glow paint companies that offer more paint in the jar for slightly less (1fl oz at $7.99 vs spacebeams with .68 fl oz at $8.99). Some other companies offer more colors of glow paint as well. My guess for the slightly higher price is that when you purchase spacebeams paint you also get access to their stencils at no additional charge, which is great for people who want to use the stencils. (My house plate # in my brick)** A: Hi, Aurora glow in the dark paint should work fine for this. Aurora comes out of the bottle in quite a thick consistency (due to a higher concentration for stronger glows) which should also actually help it when being painted on to more porous surfaces. But be sure the surface isn't too powdery or crumbly so that it has something to adhere to. Also, while Aurora paint can handle some water exposure itself, we do recommend a clear coat to help it last against the outdoors elements. I have half a jar left still and I used this to paint on top of a large 4.5 foot round moon ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does glow brightly *by D***T on May 24, 2020* I order this to use on my 3 dot sights for my gun. I have been trying to decide whether I want to upgrade my sights or just leave them be. I had no problem applying it, and it glowed very brightly for a short period. I contacted the manufacture directly and they responded very quickly. After reading everything from their site, which said this glows longer if exposed to light throughout the day which I found to be true. The bottle, when exposed to light throughout the day, it glows longer at night then when I just simply charge it after being in the dark. This is the problem I had with the product. I keep my gun either under my clothes or in a safe when not in use. The only time it is exposed to light is when I am at the range. So when I would charge it I would only get minutes of use out of it before it was gone or so dim it would be unusable. It stuck on very well, I had no issue with it falling out, I was able to apply a thick coat. I posted a picture of the initial charge and the results after two minutes. The glow was unseeable after two minutes so I got closer so you could see the paint in there. Now when I used this product on a picture it worked well. The glow lasted a much longer time but still faded quickly from it's initial brightness but it did maintain the glow for a lot longer. It doesn't stay as bright as the initial charge but you can still see the glow for a long time. So in the end I don't recommend this for gun sights as you can see but for regular pictures that are going to be exposed to light throughout the day or especially if something is going to be outside, I would use it. The bottle is small but so are all the ones at this price point. According to the manufacture the more you apply the longer it last, so if you intend to use it on something small, make sure you have the ability to apply a lot of coats. I knocked off one star for failing to work with my application as this is what came up when I searched for glow in the dark paint for guns. That said it works on larger applications so I still gave it 4 stars. I won't be ordering more, but I wouldn't discourage someone from ordering this product for their projects unless they were keeping them in a darker area or someplace with limited lighting. This product needs light throughout the day in order to last.
