It feels well made and the materials feel like they would hold up with some dropping on the floor here and there like kids tend to do. The part where you drink out of has a nice flip top that locks and seems leak proof. I haven't tried to put it in my purse but turning the cup upside down didn't result in any leaks. I filled the center with about 5 tablespoons of blueberries sliced strawberries and inserted into the cup filled with water. After sitting for a few minutes my son thought the taste was great!.
