It looks beautiful on my bed. It is soft and fluffy. It reminds me of the fur you find on good quality stuffed animals. I washed it before putting on my bed. Though It is heavy, I have a large washer, It is no heavier than a medium weight comforter. So, if you wash your comforters at home you should be fine with this. However, drying is delicate. I put it on air dry (no heat) for first hour. Then on lowest heat setting for 30 minutes and back to air dry for 30 minutes until dry. I think it took about two hours but worth it for this piece.
