## Overview

The Agave Americana, also known as Blue Agave, comes in a set of two robust plants, each measuring 8-12 inches tall. These fast-growing, outdoor-friendly plants thrive in full sun and require moderate watering, making them an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. With their striking green color and low maintenance needs, they are perfect for enhancing any garden space.

## Description

You get two healthy plants with roots. The plants wrapped in special Organic fabric. The organic fabric induced liquid fertilizer. It is recommended to plant The Agave In a pot with organic material. The organic material decomposes himself and a month later, the fabric will become organic matter. Century plant (Agave americana) is naturalised in many parts of Australia, but has a somewhat scattered distribution. It has been recorded from many parts of Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria and south-eastern South Australia. It is also naturalised on Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island. Because it is very difficult to collect, herbarium records probably greatly underestimate the actual distribution of this species in Australia. Possibly also naturalised in Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Two varieties (i.e. Agave americana var. americana and Agave americana var. expansa) and one cultivar (i.e. Agave americana 'Marginata') have been recorded amongst naturalised populations in Australia. Some state herbaria do not distinguish between these taxa, so the actual ditributions of different varieties is not well known. This species is also naturalised in many other parts of the world, including Europe, the Canary Islands, southern China, southern Africa and New Zealand.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the diameter of the agave you sell?**
A: I bought two last summer. They were about 8" across. One is in the ground and it's doubled in size. The other is in a pot and it's about 18" now with very sharp points. I recommend leaving them in pots for at least the first winter if your area gets below freezing. Parts of my in-ground agave are frost-bitten. Great plant!

**Q: Why does my older plant have like a thick shoot out the middle 4 ft tires in the plant**
A: Greetings 
 If the shoot is coming out from the top of the plant and the plant is at least 10 years old it could be the flowering shoot 
 If it is a shoot coming up from below the leaf level then it is a runner that will produce another baby plant 
 If you send me a photo I will tell you for sure !

**Q: Plants show a green color.  Do they turn blue older they get?**
A: Yes
The color will also be dependent on how much sunlight they receive

When first planted out it's good to put up a little shade for them, but when they get large they can take full sunlight

That is when they develop a more blue gray color

**Q: Can they be grown indoors?**
A: Greetings
Agaves can certainly be kept alive indoors but they will not actually thrive unless they have plenty of sun like in a sunroom or a south facing window  
A compromise can be done by keeping one pot outside in the sun for a week and your second potted agave inside and just alternate from time to time.
And if you buy from Tony at Southwest wholesale and choose expedited shipping I will send you double your order so you will have plenty of plants to alternate indoors and outdoors !!!
