I recently bought E46 M3 with the same knob but was very loose & was frequently coming off the actual shifter. I replaced with this & was able to tell right away the knob that was on the car was a knockoff product. New knob has a nice weight to it, clean seams, "metal" ring had significantly nicer finish & the leather (you smell it b4 you even open the box) felt high quality.Installed with a couple of hammerfist & it's on their nice & tight. A really easy modification for my 2007 Z4. This shifter is heavier and shorter than the stock unit. It makes for a nice "short shifter" feel. Quality is excellent.
