Use Green E-AEN only on aluminum. It is not intended for use on any other metals or materials. Green E-AEN can change its shade of orange depending on how long it is in the dye bath. It can be a vibrant lime green if you do a shorter anodizing cycle. For a longer duration in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath, Green E-AEN will look like a forest green. The anodizing process parameters have a significant impact on the properties of the oxide formed. This means that the color is dependent on the anodizing process. Green E-AEN is RoHS compliant. Anodizing is an electrochemical conversion process. Anodizing changes the outer surface of the aluminum. Anodized aluminum has different characteristics than raw aluminum. Some of the characteristics of anodized aluminum include durability and weight. (It is lighter weight than stainless steel.) The process of “anodization” creates a thick oxide layer. Mix the Dye with distilled water wait a minute and soak or paint onto the metal?** A: This is an anodizing dye. You first need to build up a porous oxide layer on the outer surface of your workpiece with an anodizing process. For aluminum, a sulfuric acid bath is commonly used with the workpiece serving as the anode in the electrochemical process. Once the layer is built up, submerge the workpiece into the dye (mixed with distilled water) at 130 to 140°F. You can leave the part in for varying amounts of time to achieve the desired shade of color. I have had the same issues as another reviewer on this product. Bottles and labeled the same with IDENTICAL part numbers/MNF SKU/color designations. Bottles came and looked different. Mixed them thinking they have the same part number so they must be the same. WRONG. This ruined a $150 part for me. Color mistmatch with “blotchiness” of another shade of green. Id suggest to stay away form this one. Also the blue is not actually royal blue.
