Ran across this on Amazon and gave it a shot.It worked pretty well. I messed up slightly on the first go around and used too much adhesive, but was able to try it again and it worked well.Instructions were simple and straightforward. I actually watched a couple of YouTube videos to see how it was done beforehand, so that helped as well.I'd recommend it for an inexpensive way to take care of small cracks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as advertised, but not "idiot proof" *by L***S on August 13, 2019* (Please keep in mind that, for purposes of this review, I'm the idiot.)This kit is a simple, relatively easy-to-use, and cost-effective way to seal windshield nicks. As others have noted, it takes a bit longer than the promised "20 minutes", this being how long the two, timed 10-minute filling steps take. Curing (hardening of the resin) takes 20-60 minutes, depending on temperature and how much sunlight there is, and prep and cleanup are another 10-15 minutes. Still, not at all bad for something that can save hundreds of $$$ of windshield replacement. And the final outcome is both durable and cosmetically near-perfect.However, in the hands of the wrong person (me) the outcome can be disappointing. I've discovered 2 ways to ruin a windshield while using this kit, the second of which should probably be warned about in the instructions.Way #1 to destroy the windshield: Place a 100W lamp (with reflector) very near the windshield before repair, for the purpose of pre-warming the glass and speeding up curing of the resin. The result? Small cracks become BIG cracks. Turns out a heat source too close to a cracked windshield results in a very badly cracked windshield, as thermal stress from the lamp enlarges/lengthens the cracks quite nicely. Oops.Way #2 to destroy the windshield: Press too firmly near the site of damage when applying the seal and pedestal compenents of the kit to the glass. Users are instructed to press these down and to ensure a good seal, but it turns out that pressing TOO hard causes -- you guessed it -- the cracks to enlarge/lengthen. The result? The 1-inch spider becomes, in the blink of any eye, four 6-inch cracks running out in different directions ... and windshield replacement becomes mandatory. Sigh.But dodge these bullets and you have a pretty good chance of being very, very happy with this repair kit. And now some parting suggestions for improvement:(1) Include in the instructions the above cautionary note about not pressing too firmly near the site of damage.(2) Include in the kit the pin described in the instructions as being included in the kit (which it isn't).(3) Have a toothpick on hand while using the kit, so that (during Step 5) you can free air that gets trapped in the pedestal while adding resin.That's all. There are a lot of rocks in the Ozarks and it seems a windshield is always getting hit. This was by far the nicest quality kit I've used. The materials were sturdy and well thought out. It worked well.My only negative would be that no one sells a mega kit. . . something to fix a big crack. I've got a 2" diameter spot with multiple cracks that looks like the bottom of a pop bottle.
