What i use it for most is on paper type gaskets. A light coat on both sides of a new gasket and it’ll never leak. In a pinch if you pull something with a paper gasket and it don’t tear you can apply this to the exposed side of the gasket and re use it. I’ve done this quite a few times and never had a leak.
