I have been looking for a new yoga mat for about four months. I have researched on line, looked in magazines, talked to people in my yoga class about their mat. I wanted a comfortable mat, thick enough to provide some cushion but not so thick it would affect my stability. I wanted a super sticky mat so my feet didn't slide in Prasarita Padottanasana. I wanted an extra long mat so I wouldn't have to readjust myself as often. And being an artist and a very visual person, I wanted a colorful beautiful mat. Alas, only my first three wishes were granted...didn't get the color / graphics I would have liked but seriously, this is an awesome mat! I am so happy with it and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. Thanks, Ashram! I have found that the black side works better for me when holding down dog for a long time because I sweat a lot and it helps to provide a better grip. On the Grey cushion side, my hands slip more.
