The kick stand broke within a week for one of them but it can somewhat stand up on a flat surface using it's feet. The iPad has dropped a few times but it seem unscathed thanks to the case! My 7 year old son does get frustrated because of the business of the case he cannot hold it a certain way. The handles on the side are nice and the look is cute but when you need it to protect electronic ipad at the cost of $400.00, flimsy won't cut it. I would not recommend this item. But my daughter loved the design and insisted we keep it. The iPad falls out of the case. It is a very lightweight rubbery silicone that does not hold the iPad in place. Accessing the power button is also difficult. Since the iPad is for my young daughter it has been dropped several times and the screen has shattered despite having a screen protector.
