The sound from the cartridges we used (sorry, don't remember the brand) was a tiny bit lower in pitch and less intense of a "hiss" than "the pet corrector" spray but did the trick equally as well. Don't know if it made a difference that we'd started with the can of pet corrector. I found this much easier to carry, grab and immediately use so switched entirely to this set up. Great, more convenient, less expensive option. **Q: can you use this with 12g co2 nonthreaded cartridges?** A: Probably not, unless the 12g co2 were the same size as the 16g. In this inflater, the NONTHREADED cartridge is pushed into and held into the part that opens the cartridge and controls the release by the "handle." If the 12g is too small then the handle part won't push it in or hold it in correctly I don't think. If you put something in the bottom of the handle part then it might work. For THREADED co2 cartridges, the handle is unnecessary so if you're using 12g THREADED cartridges it will probably be fine. I've never tried it though, so I'm not certain. **Q: does n20 work with this aswell.?** A: Looks like you have to pack the cup holder as the cartridges are smaller. I would recommend it as it saves time and effort. As this is the first time that I have used a C02 cartridge, I was impressed with the speed that it inflated the tyre. A must to carry now although still have a mini pump on the bike.
