Review: 2004 YAMAHA RAPTOR 80 QUAD CARBURETOR Exact replacent for the original - Exact replacement for the original 2004 Yamaha Raptor 80 carb. The only difference I see is the idle adjustment screw is a slot instead of a phillips head screw, and the copper colored fuel inlet tube is slightly shorter than the stock original but not much. Comes with a set of small brushes and a low grade fuel filter. The 8 year old gas that had been sitting in the Raptor 80 morphed into green paint thinner stanky goo and clogged up the jets and passages so badly, even after a disassembly and gumout carb cleaner blasting it just wouldn't run off choke. Remove the gas tank, and properly dispose of the old fuel goo inside. Spray out the tank with lots of water to remove any contaminants. Let dry completely and have a gallon of ethanol free VP 94 Octane Small Engine Fuel ready. I couldn't find any videos showing how to disconnect the throttle cable. First turn the fuel petcock to off. Disconnect the fuel petcock to carburator fuel hose at the carburator. Then remove the two 10 mm bolts from the rear of the intake manifold above the engine cylinder, and loosen the air tube inlet fastener ring from the front of the carburetor with a phillips screwdriver to disconnect the rubber intake tube from the carburetor. Now you have to pull the carburetor down to access its top and remove the three screws holding the top plate with the throttle cable running through it. Loosen the lock nut at the bottom of the throttle cable on the curved metal carburetor housing and spin the carburetor while holdong the larger cable nut to detach the carb. The entire needle valve assembly and sleeve lift out of the top of the carburetor and the throttle cable has to be released from a small recess at the base. Compress the spring and draw the tip of the cable out of its seat and out of the slot. Then reverse the process with this replacement carburetor to install. There is a groove at the base of the needle valve opposite the cable seat that has to fit a notch inside the carberator so carefully align so it fully inserts and replace the top plate with the three screws. Spin the carb to seat the throttle cable top nut onto the curved carburetor cable guide tube and use the locknut to secure the assembly. Be carefull to keep the orings in place on the carberator and intake manifold, and dont forget the oval plastic spacer in between! Tighten the 10mm bolts securely but dont strip em! Reattach the air intake hose, tighten the clamp ring with a phillips screwdriver. Attach the fuel tube with a small hose clamp and tighten. Attach the spark plug wire back on top of the spark plug. Turn the fuel petcock to the on or reserve position. Add some fuel to the fuel tank and check for leaks. Pump the throttle a few times and hit the starter button My Raptor 80 started in three attempts once the fuel made its way into the carb. It idled a bit high when fully warm so a small adjustment was required to calm it down. Runs great and the kids are having a blast with the old Raptor 80!!!!!
Review: 1993 YFM80 Yamaha Badger Ist push Purrs like a kitten - This carburetor was installed on a 1993 YFM80 Yamaha Badger . I did NOT have to touch this carby 1 iota . I didn't even have to turn the idle screw . Bolted it up , turned on the fuel , pressed the starter button for literally Half a second , it immediately started , idled PERFECTLY , reved it up , like a brand new quad , I kid you not . The quality is EXACTLY the same as the M brand charging 2 to 300 bucks , if not better all the around . From screws , to jets , to the type of alloy . Why even mess with a rebuild kit ? AND you still receive all the extras : Handy Dandy carb jet cleaners , a fuel filter (which is better than those they sell in the store ) a vent line , and a nice overflow hose ...Guys I cant say enough , you just cant beat this deal ANYWHERE . Trust me . and just a soapbox tip : We should all start stating the model numbers / versions of our bikes because it really helps people make a better decision . Pass it on !!! Peace ! P.S. They even marked the screw points with a marker if you ever should get out of adjustment....

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good enough for how cheap it is
*by R***N on August 17, 2025*

Carb worked fine. Slight drip out of the overflow tube. Float height needs adjustment right of of the box but other than that worked as intended. I did up to a 15 pilot jet for personal reasons but wasn't absolutely necessary. Installed on a 2008 Raptor 80
