It looks like a high end separate, and is almost identical to the J Crew piece. There is no issue with the pleating and the fabric hangs evenly a little below the knee (not a midi). The way the skirts hung was an issue with both the other chiffon skirts. This fabric is not chiffon, but a very light knit. It is not sheer so it can be worn easily without worry of unwanted views through the skirt fabric. It's so flattering! I think that the pleats pattern really benefits me (thin pleats) as I have big hips, it doesn't add more volume; this also is more like an straight line skirt, not A line. I'm 5'2", 210lbs I wear size 16 in jeans, and XL/XXL in pants depending on the brand. I bought XL and the elastic feels a hair tight, but not too bad. I'm happy I know I'll be able to dress it up or down, I'll be able to create different looks with it. Very functional. It's thin fabric, perfect for summer.
