I bought this because I love using my Old Boy but I don't always want to take it on the go w me. It's an expensive lighter w sentimental value and losing it would suck. This lighter is chunkier than my old boy and feels more cheaply made (because it is. $100 vs $20 lighter, obviously) beyond that it's fine. If you like the style and function but don't want to spend $100+ on a lighter then this is a reasonable alternative. This lighter is most likely chrome plated pot-metal so be prepared for flaking with long-term use. (That said, parts of my Old Boy are also plated). The Old Boy feels better in the hand and functions more smoothly. It's also got a brass butane tank whereas this is undoubtedly plastic and won't last forever. Up to you.
