The legs do stick out quite a bit farther than my old one but if you adjust it right, it shouldn't be a problem. My favorite part is how easy it is to get my light up and down the pole and the wheels. That all can be done one handed. Review: Very disappointed - This came without the casters attached. There is an Allen screw that go up through the caster and a lock washer and nut attaches on the inside of the square tubing. I had to pull the plastic cap off the end of the tubing to put the washer and nut in. However the tubing doesn’t have enough room to get a wrench or socket inside. I called Manfrotto. They said the casters should have come attached and maybe I could use needle nose pliers to hold the nut in place... good luck! Of course the pliers couldn’t be opened wide enough to hold the nut. I was surprised we had to do this you think it would come with the wheels fully tight. One wheel was close to falling off.
