Works fine, but no idea of the ratio to use.
Having been stationed in South Korea with my wife, we developed a taste for Kimchi, but I don't prefer the overly spice kind. This product allows you to replace the traditional hot Korean red pepper (or Gochugaru) most recipes call for with something more tolerable to American taste buds. While it seems a bit expensive, it provided flavor for me to create 5 separate recipes of 1 gallon kinchi dishes while staying fresh in the refrigerated lock-down container. It did take a bit of adjusting to get the mixture to taste (I use 3 TBSP of this product when it calls for 5 TBSP of Gochugaru ), but now it is perfect.A great product!

Thumbs up
If you don’t use this often, but love it, divide it up in 1/4 pint freezer mason jars and freeze.

My favorite gochujang to use
There are a lot of gochujangs out there, but this one is my preferred one. I'm a "bad" Korean in that I don't like things that are super spicy hot, so this one is perfect for my taste. I use it for anything that requires gochujang .. the majority of the time marinating pork or beef. I was happy to see this on Amazon -- I normally buy it at H-Mart, but during the COVID situation, I'm trying not to go too often to physical grocery stores.

Mild not too hot. Can actually enjoy now.
Always loved the gochujang they would serve me in all the many different Korean restaurants I’d frequent but the gochujang they sell in grocery stores is always way too hot spicy....not like what I’ve always enjoyed in Korean restaurants until a chef told me about this “mild” version. It’s still a little bit spicy but not too spicy so I can actually enjoy it and cook with it because the flavors (not the spiciness) you get cooking with gochujang are so good!!

Korean Chili Paste
Yum. Yum. Yummy.Deep mild chilli flavor. Will be a repeat customer for this one for sure. I honestly don't think I could live without the convenience of a perfectly made chili condiment like this.

amazing flavor, good in so many things
I bought this after getting obsessed with the The Kimchi Chronicles: Korean Cooking for an American Kitchen .I joke about this paste being the *new* adobo sauce... you are going to find yourself putting it in everything:bbq ribs, mayo, deviled eggs, rice, stews, coleslaw, slathered on sandwiches, in your grilled cheese, on steaks, in your popcorn butter... you get the picture? It's not very hot, and has sugar added, and will last forever in your frig if it gets pushed to the back.

this paste has changed how i cook - I add it to so many things to add a very mild spice with complex tones

Delicious!
It's like almost five times expensive what you can get in Korea but I grew up eating almost only this brand for Gochujang. I've tried Gochujang from other brands but I didn't like them.Sunchang is a town right next to my parents live and they are really famous for producing really good paste (Jang) (including Gochujang and 된장(soybean paste)) and there are famous masters of Jang. So I highly trust them and love their stuff in general. Delicious!

Contains Alcohol!
It contains ALCOHOL but the description and ad photos clearly does not show that! Was looking forward to it, so I'm really disappointed

Very very nice
Delicious. Very spicy....I v been having it with anything...from fried egg on toast with a little in the side to dip into with. To gammon and roast potatoes and veg. To boiled rice mixed into with chorizo....I m finding it's working with lots of things . And the list is just growing. No lid with it though. So I've improvised. Frozen one pot...and I m eating slowly the other. But next time on purchase to put it into smaller pots to freeze and use on the go. So nonsense wasted. Not that I have. Just thinking ahead.
