Review: One of the best long term water storage containers - Why I'm diggin the water brick? 1. Perfect Capacity 3.5 gallons (instead of 5 or more!) 31.5lbs of water is MUCH more manageable than 45lbs. Lets call it 34lbs with the weight of the brick itself. 2. The Handle It's comfortable and easy to use. Some have said that it comes off too easily. It's true, but I think this is a good thing. Easily removing the handle is important in order to use the spigot (must be purchased separately). Actually, so far I really like the handle, and it looks like they will last as long as the brick will. 3. Adult Size Legos!? Stack em up!! Not sure how high they can be safely stacked before the bottom one it compromised, I think the website has that number. But even if you can only stack them 4-5 high, this is an AWESOME feature. Are the "stability" holes necessary? Probably not, but for safety sake, I guess I understand. So where can you put em? In the corner of the closet, in the garage, or shed, trunk of the car, under the sink, on the shelves of the pantry, in a (sturdy) drawer, under the bed, under the couch, under a table top as a makeshift coffee table to night stand. 4. Wide Mouth Due to the design, it's not really possible to reach inside and scrub all of the inside, the wide mouth is nice to have for easy filling and emptying. 5. The Cap Somewhere I read that someone wasn't happy with the cap. Huh?! They are thick, well made, and have a quality feeling rubber inner to create a good seal. What more do you want? It's an important aspect of water storage, and they did it well. The negatives? First, the mouth of the brick being recessed, it is next to impossible to empty the brick completely. Kind of a big flaw, but not a deal breaker for me. Number two, no air vent. I wonder why... It will probably slow the water flow when using the spigot. Guess we can't have it all. Overall, a huge step forward in long-term water storage for the average person, especially for space-conscious apartment dwellers. Find it hard to swallow the price tag? I get it. Some quick numbers: The Water Brick: 6 bricks x 3.5 gallons = 21 gallons. $120/21 = $5.71 per gallon Bottled Water "Market Pantry" from Target: $1 per gallon If you replace your bottled water each year and if my math is correct, then in six years the Water Bricks pay for themselves. And you keep those bottles out of the landfills or oceans. Not such a bad deal.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long would water last in the containers without having to change it?**
A: Assuming the water is either chlorinated municipal water, or you add your own bleach, I believe the school of thought 6-12 months.  Longer is probably fine, you may just want to oxigenate the water (simple pour in back and forth between two cups/containers).

**Q: would this sink or float if placed in a pool?**
A: Empty it floats. Full it sinks. Objects that are more dense than water sink and those less dense float. Hollow things often float too as air is less dense than water.

**Q: Made in the USA?**
A: Yes

**Q: Has anyone experienced a fowl smell in the containers? I don’t feel comfortable filling these with water!**
A: They definitely have a strong plastic odor.  I left mine sitting open for a couple days and rinsed with soap and warm water twice.  It still had a little of the smell (and I’m sure the water I stored will capture some of that in taste), but it was much better than when I first opened them.  If I repeated that process, I’m sure it would of been gone.
