It defeats the whole purpose of the cordless iron idea as the stand has to be so close to the wall socket. This would put me off buying another Ariete. Otherwise its a good iron. I hate ironing but this makes it a little less frustrating... Stays hot long enough to iron each section of the garment before putting the iron back on the base to warm up. Sometimes I then have to wait a moment for the light to go out (showing you it's hot again) after repositioning the garment, but unless you're a professional iron-er in a huge hurry it's not an issue...
