They need them because one needs the uv protection for a white nose and the other suffers with high pollen. These fly masks are really good stayed on all day and did exactly what I needed them to do. They have elastic behind he ears so you can tighten them and not worry about it being too tight for them to eat and they look really comfortable with a fleece down the side of the faces and on the browband.
