The part where you insert the inhaler has the opening shape of the standard ventolin inhaler. But outside the cutout, there is a circular shape that perfectly fits the new QVAR design. You are able to shove it through the rubber (which creates a relatively air-tight seal) and breathe in to trigger the breath-actuation.
