For some reason when the new Saturn Pro has become available desertcart has merged in the reviews for the older model even if the new one is much better. My review for the newer Saturn Pro has 5 stars and you can find it further up or down. I bought two of these, to listen TV wirelessly, which is one of the suggested use. I use one in TX mode, attached to TV and one in RX with my earphones. They both work fine, pair with each other with no problems and they are quite cool too: small, light, etc. So they would be really great if it wasn't for 4 very annoying shortcomings: 1) the unit in TX mode stops transmitting audio whenever the audio level is "low". Unfortunately its "low" is still quite high, so whenever you are listening to a TV program that has, at moments, a low volume (e.g. people whispering, or during scene transitions..) you hear the audio clicking, coming and going, or just missing. I hoped it was just one of the two units to be defective, but no, I tried switching the two units and the other cuts audio too. 2) specification says you can use the unit even during USB charging it. True but, whenever I attach the TX unit to USB power, I hear a strong noise that forces me to disconnect USB asap (same on both units) 3) These have a tendency to power-off after some time with no audio. So if for example I pause a movie during a phone call, when I'm done I have to get up to turn it back on.... 4) When connected to an audio out line (e.g. your TV audio out, instead of the earphone jack) there is no way to control volume. The TV remote controls only the earphone jack volume not the audio out line. And the receiving unit has no way to control volume. You may use a earphone with an analog volume control, but they are not very common and I don't have one. So I'd be very happy to see these improvements implemented (and then buy another two :-) - remove the "low" volume filter (there is really no reason for it, you can still power off after a long period with "low" volume even without cutting audio out) - properly filter USB power to avoid audio noise - make the unit TURN ON automatically whenever USB power is attached, and STAY ON as long as there is USB power (it uses negligible power anyway) - thus I could attach the TX unit to the USB port of my TV and it would be working whenever the TV is on (no need to reach for the TX unit everytime you use it. - add a slider or up/down buttons for volume control, so the RCA audio connection would really be usable and I won't need to plug/unplug the TX unit from the TV earphone jack every time I use it. - and, just as a wish, add another 3.5mm jack to the unit so that I can connect two earphones without additional adapters/cables. Review: From Zero to Hero. - UPDATE 3: I soon forget about this product and it was stashed away in a drawer... However... I recently got a Roku 3 and I love it. The Roku 3 has a remote control that allows you to plug in headphone into it and listen to whatever is playing though them and not the TV! So many wonderful things about it: late night TV that doesn't bother anyone, privacy to watch scandalous shows, be able to go anywhere with the remote. However, a wired remote proves a tad inconvenient... and I thought... Hmm what if I connect that transmitter thing I got 2 years ago... I found it, charged it, and paired it with my bluetooth headphones and now basically my TV is bluetooth enabled for audio through the Roku and the Roku remote serves me as a convenient way to control the media playback. I used to stream with Chromecast but the recent update to Lollipop left my lock screen useless for controlling media apps - for example HULU. Unlocking to pause or rewind and skip is a hassle. With the remote, I control it a more natural faster way. With the Avantree transmitter, I can roam around my place while being able to listen to my media. Pairing of this unit is still strange: sometimes it repairs right away with a previously used headset; sometimes you have everything on pair again rave lights mode. But, the benefit outweighs this annoyance. Battery life is decent for what I do but not great. Maybe newer units will be better? But I like the form factor of this one. The pebble fits well. It does look odd but lol it gives me a wireless life! UPDATE 2: The product has potential; however, it is extremely unreliable. I have connected it with my HDTV, phone, speakers, etc. It would stream well for a few minutes, say 17 minutes, and then it will start crumbling, cutting off every second, it makes it unbearable... I have experience cutting and cracking of audio while standing less than 2 feet away from it. Also the stereo functionality is not that great. Benefit: Stop cranking up the TV while working out about 10 feet away from it. I got this little pebble-like device today packed in a slim easy to open box. It came with easy to follow instructions. Charged it for about 2 hours or so and it was ready to go. I could not connect it to my TV right away as it was being used by other people (will update on that one). However, I was able to hook it to my PC and pair it with my Bluetooth headset. The result was straight-forward easy pairing. In just a few minutes after charging it, I was streaming audio from my PC into my headphones! Like some technological sorcery just happened. I was hungry (lol these details...) and I went to the kitchen to grab a snack. I was then reminded of me reading some review here complaining about range. The kitchen is not too far from my room, and fortunately I was not disconnected from the device. I did have some minor " disruptions", but I was at least 12-20 feet away from it and there was a wall and a closet between me and the device. I think it will perform well at its intended purpose. It is much cheaper than buying a new TV and much more versatile. Quality: Music and audio is coming out fine and at decent and discernible quality. I love music and so far I am satisfied. Now, I don't have anything to compared it to as I don't have any other " transmitters". I have a Roku, which allows you to plug headphones into the remote, and that works pretty well. However, you have to plug corded headphones into the remote...so the cord and remote gets in the way while exercising. So I purchased this item, and it is working very well with my LG stereo Bluetooth headset. Note that it comes with a 3.5mm headset jack adapter (male/male). My surround sound system has an old school phono jack. I already had a phono jack to 3.5mm adapter lying around, so I am using that with the 3.5mm male/male adapter included with the product. The sound quality is very good. Both the adapter and my headset support aptX, so that probably contributes to the sound quality (although I have no way of 'proving' that aptX is being used.) There is minimal lag (audio/video being out of sync), and is not noticeable unless you really obsess over it (any Bluetooth audio adapter like this is going to have some minor audio lag.) If you use the adapter as I have described above (with a home theater system), remember to lower the volume on your sound system, and raise the volume on your Bluetooth headset. If the volume is too high on the sound system, you will get distortion. Raise the volume on your headset, and use the lowest acceptable volume on the sound system. An additional use case, that I haven't tried yet, is to take it with me on business trips.
