## Overview

Hagerty 10120 Silversmiths' Silver Polish is a 12-ounce, kosher-certified liquid polish designed to clean, protect, and restore silver, gold, and plated items. Featuring a unique R-22 tarnish-preventing agent, it extends shine up to 10 times longer than traditional polishes. Safe for use on porous materials like wood and felt, this versatile formula is ideal for both cherished antiques and everyday silverware maintenance.

## Description

Safely return fine household treasures to their original luster with this gentle, easy-to-use silver polish. Specially formulated to clean, polish, and protect sterling, gold-, and silver-plated items, the versatile polish can be used to restore nearly any metal or precious-metal object--even those with porous components such as utensils with wood or cork handles, collectibles with felt padding, and other keepsakes that cannot be rinsed. To use, simply apply generously to an item's surface and underside, allow to dry, and rinse thoroughly (or buff with a soft cloth if rinsing is not recommended). The formula's special R-22 tarnish-preventing agent locks out tarnish up to 10 times longer than standard polishes, while its penetrating ingredients combine with the silver's surface to achieve a dazzling patina. Perfect for restoring fine antiques and keepsakes, the polish also makes a smart choice for everyday maintenance of silverware, trays, jewelry, watches, and more. Endorsed and certified Kosher by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the 12-ounce bottle of silver polish measures approximately 1-2/5 by 3-1/2 by 6-8/9 inches.

Review: Great Polish! - Short and sweet - this stuff worked like magic. Very little scrubbing with the polishing cloth, and what a difference it made. Sorry I waited so long to buy this - these tarnished serving utensils sat on my back counter for months because I thought it would be a big, difficult deal to polish them. It was so easy it was almost fun.
Review: Magic stuff! - Fantastic silver polish. We found a whole box of silverware when we moved and decided to try to polish them up for daily use. All items in the box were given to us by parents and have been in the box for the last 20 some years. Imagine the tarnish on them! I found a few pieces of polish cloth to start. It worked but it requires a lot of elbow grease and patience. I went on desertcart to search for an easier alternative. This product seems to have most raves and I was very willing try for less than $15. Product arrived on time. The polish is a thick liquid (like concentrated dish soap) in red clay color. It has certain odor to it, not offensive but nor pleasing. I poured it on some silverware and rubbed with cloth. It is truly amazing to see how soon the stuff worked its way to remove tarnish, black spots and shine up the platters, spoons, etc. I rinsed with gentle soap and water - the instruction allows simple wiping/rubbing off by cloth. I personally wouldn't be too comfortable serving food with the polished silver without washing. Most of my silverware came out very nice and clean after one round of rubbing and rinse. A few that sustained too much damage needed another round of polishing. I used about half a bottle to clean a big platter, 4 or 5 medium size serving plates, 3 sets of serving folk/knife, and a cute dinner bell (not sure whether mom ever used that to let dad know dinner is ready :-). I applied pretty massive amount to those old pieces. I can imagine most silver probably doesn't need that much to drown in. All in all, this is a very effective and economical polish to use. A few tips for those who intend to use this: 1. wear latex gloves or something to keep your hands clean. I used the polish with and without gloves. The product is not abrasive to hurt skin on my hands but my hands got dark as black tarnish was cleaned off from silverware. If some got underneath nails, it's hard to clean. 2. Cover your work surface, especially if you plan to do the polishing on a light colored countertop. The same dark gunk from cleaning will make a mess of your work area. 3. Keep a few clean towels around to wipe your hands - for sure your phone will be ringing when your hands are full of the polish. Enjoy your shiny silver!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have very delicate silver earrings that are made of lots of tiny silver parts hooked together. Is it possible to just dip them in this solution?**
A: This is more like a cream paste, so you would not be able to dip your earrings into it. You may want to try other silver dipping products.

**Q: Can silver Polish be used on brass?**
A: It is designed for Silver, we suggest looking for a Brass only Polish.

**Q: Can I use this on jewelry with turquoise?**
A: DO NOT use any cleaning chemicals or soaps when cleaning your Turquoise. Turquoise is porous and chemicals, even mild soaps, can damage your piece.
To clean the Turquoise gemstones in your Jewelry, you will need a small bowl of warm water, a soft toothbrush, and a soft drying towel. Do not submerge your Turquoise in the water. Simply wet the toothbrush in the warm water and gently scrub the Turquoise stones. Do small sections at a time and dry with the soft cloth. Once completed, lay it out on a dry cloth and allow to completely dry before putting it away.

**Q: This is probably an odd question, but is this polish safe to be used around plants?**
A: I would think that the ingredients are listed, and might indicate that at least caution should be used when using "around plants," whatever that means.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for silver plating

I've used this product with great success on restoring silver plated musical instruments. It works quickly for what it is, and with some elbow grease and patience I've used it to bring back some severely tarnished instruments to looking beautiful again.
