On doing a Google image search on both the 500II and 505 cartridges, the stylus looks to be the same shape. **Q: What profile are these needles please** A: This is a spherical stylus. I'm no audiophile, but for general listening of charity shop/junk records these are perfect for me. Stereo image is very narrow, but voices are clear and the top end isn't as harsh as some other cheap needles. I found I needed quite a high tracking weight to stop kick drum distortion on dance music. 4-5g as apposed to 3.5 for an original 505 cart so bare that in mind. I'm happy with them for the price, but I wouldn't want to use them with my more precious records.
