However, the tea pot suffers from a common problem, in that the lid does not fit securely. When pouring from the tea pot the lid will simply fall off, potentially scalding the user with hot tea. I have returned other tea pots for this same reason, and it seems to me that this is a fundamental flaw in the design of an otherwise good item. The only way around this is to hold the lid in place as the pot is poured, which in itself is an imperfect solution.
