It was a great study. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to Follow, Great for daily quick check ins *by K***E on July 3, 2024* I bought this devotional as the first to try to get back on a path of learning and growing in my faith. This book is great for me as I have about 20 minutes in the morning before my kids get up to do a quick lesson. This is easy to read, room to reflect and prompts with good questions. I feel like I'm learning a lot more about Ruth, women as a whole and what I can do to help other women around me grow in their love of Christ. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Enjoyable guide, large size, great for individual study *by R***P on March 12, 2021* I really enjoyed this guide through the book of Ruth. It is a large workbook and there is plenty of space to write your answers to the questions and other observations if you want to study things more deeply by using another study alongside it. (I particularly enjoyed listening to the sermon series by "Verse by Verse Ministries" - free on their website/app - which brought out the eschatological themes in Ruth and also provided additional historical context.) Although, another study would not be needed as it is long enough and has enough thoughtful questions to stand on its own. It contains both "obvious" questions directly from the text and open-ended application questions. She also brings in plenty of additional verses from other parts of the Bible, which I appreciate!When looking at the reviews before buying the book, someone complained that the answers to the questions were given right after the question. This is true and I can see how this would be annoying but it is actually invaluable if you are studying on your own so that you know if you're on the right track. I just make sure not to read ahead and answer the question in my own words. Then, if I see that the author has a slightly different answer than mine, it just gives me more to think or write about!Another reviewer complained that the study was mostly focused towards women who were engaged/married/had children. I was single until I was 31 so I understand the sensitivity but I disagree with that observation. I could count on one hand the number of questions specifically directed at the "attached" group. Even though I am married now, I found myself applying the principles to other relationships in my life. Also, the focus of the study is on how Ruth parallels your personal relationship to Christ Jesus.
