It’s at the 6 o’clock position. Then you can remove the actual watch part, which has a simple snap back. Carefully prise it open with a small penknife blade, which will reveal the movement inside and you’ll then be able to take out the old battery and insert a new one. I think it’s a 626 or AG4, but it’ll be marked on the battery. If that seems a bit fiddly, once you’ve got the clock part out of its casing you can take it to a jeweller’s shop that replaces watch batteries and they’ll do it for you. Make sure the new battery is a good-quality silver oxide one. The cheap alkaline ones you can get don’t last long at all.
