The welds seem solid, its stainless steel so its rust resistant but not quite as good as aluminum for those of us that ride in salt water (nothing a wash down after a ride can't fix). The straps are solid, feel like the same material as seat belts. All in all, if you're this far you know what you're looking for. This is a good product.
