Definitely not "comfort height". I needed something to enable me to use my toilet after having a total knee replacement and this seat worked pretty well. I liked the width and height of the padded grips and the seat itself was comfortable. It was really easy to install on my 16.5 inch (front to back) round toilet without having to remove the existing toilet seat. What I did not like was the lateral stability wasn't the greatest. If you do not use equal pressure with your arms when rising the seat tips. It never fully came off the commode but if you have balance issues it definitely leaves you feeling unsteady. Also, the seat has no lid on it. If you are looking for a long term booster seat I would consider a seat that bolts onto the existing toilet instead.
