I loved the convenience of the shoulder strap, and the security of the zipper. And the bright design was lovely. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT--IT REEKS!! The INTENSE CHEMICAL SMELL of this bag was AWFUL!! I read this in other reviews, and hoped the issue would be solved. BUT NOPE, THESE BAGS ARE STILL RANK WITH UNBEARABLE CHEMICAL ODOR!! AAANNNNNDDDD ... I WASHED IT FOUR TIMES!! FOUR TIMES!! AND IT STILL STUNK!! I washed in hot water with a soak cycle, scented wash crystals, good detergent, and an extra rinse FOUR TIMES ... AND IT STILL STUNK!! This awful chemical smell DOES NOT GIVE UP!! One good thing, even after all of those washes, the bag still looks brand new. I did air dry the bag, and it held up very well, seems very durable and the design stays vivid. But the SMELL IS STILL ATROCIOUS. So I returned the bag for a full refund. Amazon really needs to STOP selling these bags until they figure out the chemical smell issue. I've had them sitting out in the fresh air for 24hrs and the smell is still strong. I've since sprayed them with fabreeze and stuffed a bounce dryer sheet in each, which seems to be helping a bit. My kids will start using them tomorrow at school and we will see how it goes. Technical info ...they seem well padded and well made and thin enough to go in their backpacks. The strap has plastic hardware on a nylon strap with a shoulder pad. There is an extra pocket on the outside that runs the length of the bag...good for computer accessories. My kids have Samsung 11.5in chromebooks. They slide in the bag and for perfectly. See the pics. I was looking for something they could carry them in without having to carry their backpacks everywhere, as well as protect them. It took about two weeks to get the odor where it wasn't so strong. The colors on mine were not as vibrant as it shows and the size was smaller. Mine measures 9x12. I was wanting it to carry folders. The folders slide in but then I cannot zip it up since the folders are 9.5 x 11.75 inches, which would have fit if this bag was actually the size they list.
