You have to get close in order for the remote to work. Also, the lights are light weight so I have to find tape to keep it in place. They are fairly long (can go from first floor roof to floor if you wrap loosely, have decent illumination and the typical remote control options you see for these types of lights (there should be a picture of the options). Now, that said, the battery box is pretty heavy when you have batteries in them so you will need strong double sized tape to hold the battery pack. Also, seems like you have to have just the right angle for the remote to work. The good news is the remote works on all of them so you can use one remote for multiple lights.
