They don't really eat it because it doesn't get through the netting but they love it. I bought the originally designed one that was made by a Dad back in 1999 when my son was born. I found that any time a US company doesn't advertise in huge letters that their product is made in the US, it's made overseas. **Q: can you replace the mesh like with the nuby brand?** A: Not that I know of.
