I have loved the first pair so much! Thick, strong, soft, no pilling, washes well, little shrinkage, lasts for years - I bought the first pair 4 years ago and still no pilling. This time, did I want the soft gray or the "lavender" for my D-i-L? I settled on the lavender. I wish someone had described the type of purple. It's NOT lavender. Here it is: It is a perfect shade of Pinzon's dove gray with a dash of grape thrown in the dye lot. The color showing on my monitor is about right. It will go well with the soft gray and mauve that my daughter-in-law loves. Someone described it as vibrant purple. This set isn't. The color is printed on. The reverse is basically white with a bit of color coming thru in the light. There has been no fading as some have commented on. The dryer isn't full of lint after drying them.The only negative I have to say is in the cooooold winter evenings, you want a top sheet that leaves plenty of overhang for both you and your hubby. The queen set doesn't give as much overhang as I'd like. I always buy the king, wash the sheets well in hot water, dry on very warm - twice in case it shrinks - then tailor the king fitted sheet to fit my queen mattress - only one side needs to be shortened. I'm glad I know how to sew. Someone mentioned the narrow king pillowcases - true. A queen fitted with a king top sheet - perfection! These 170 gram sheets have a nice feel, are soft and are beautifully dyed. They don't seem quite as fuzzy as other flannel sheets right out of the package, but I prefer that as I am a hot sleeper.
