If so is plumbers grease ok to use?** A: If it is silicone based, yes. Do not use a petrolium base like Vasoline, it will eat the rubber. **Q: Does this also seal the ball also?** A: It seals the bowl to the base and, most importantly the bowl to the ball valve. Make very certain you clean any scale/minerals from the ball valve & the bottom of the base. **Q: I purchased the sealand 510+ from amazon on aug 28, 2019, received it and installed it after labor day. today it will not hold water. resolution?** A: Had a very similar issue with the one I installed and have had the same issue with other types of seals. The solution I have found that works the best is go to the hardware store and buy a tube of plumbers grease and apply a layer of grease to the underside of the seal where the sphere slides against the seal. It has a tendency to get dry and not form a water tight seal against the sphere.
