As a fan of the space program it was great to see some of the old familiar depictions that I saw from my childhood foward, and to see the fantasies of past generations and the visions and dreams of more recent works. With that said, "The Art of Space" is one of the best books on the subject that I have ever seen.Every page of this sturdy, well-produced volume is memorable. The sizes of the images range from just a couple of inches on a side to double-page spreads, and every single one of them is striking. From 19th century black-and-white pen-and-ink drawings through the latest CGI creations using today's digital technologies, each image is a stunning feast for the eyes. The captions and introductory text in each section are perfect in length and content, and add immensely to the visual treat of the images themselves.In short, this is an absolutely fantastic book that should occupy a place of honor on the bookshelf of every space art fan.
