I returned this items a few days ago. But I still feel it's gross especially during this pandemic time. First. To use in dark, the buttons, I put those glow in the dark stickers people use on ceilings for solar system etc. In kids' rooms (of course I have these stickers because we use it in our adult bedroom.) So on off easy to find. Low light for time, LOW...as it should be.CD player can be heard two rooms away (if you need/want) or low...it just is overall a great player. AFTER ALL THIS I GOT SMART AND ORDERED A SONY CD ALARM CLOCK.
