## Description

Jacquard Photo Emulsion & Diazo Sensitizer for silk screening. Mix together, following the instructions, then squeegee on the outside of the screen

Review: Beginner Friendly - I am an absolute beginner, so far I have perfectly coated 2 screen with no problem. I did fail at one screen but that was my own error. I dropped a big blob of the emulsion down onto the screen. Someone said this is not beginner friendly, but I have had no problem and I don't believe that I am just naturally skilled at this lol. The emulsion dries fairly fast and the image burning worked fine. Spraying the image out is easy and doesn't take long. I recommend a spray bottle for it. I did it first with a shower head but that was hard. I have coated a total of 3 screens and probably still have enough for one more. So it lasts pretty long. Overall this is a great product and I recommend it.
Review: This Stuff Works! - When you read reviews and you see ones that just give it 1 star and say it just junk and doesn't work at all, it should tell you that either they happen to get the one bad batch or they just don't really know what they are doing. This is my first attempt ever at screening. I read a researched a lot and took my and still made mistakes but the results of the first screen worked great! The biggest mistake I made, and I assume many others are too by reading the reviews, is applying too much emulsion on the screen and not coating it evenly. I watched videos and read other instructions and they talk about how it will drip; you should NOT be applying so much that it drips!! As you can see my first attempt dripped all over the place and the coating was spotty. I was able to get it to work but that needed a lot of improvement. Heavy and uneven coatings also cause a lot of issues with proper exposure. My second attempt I used much less emulsion when applying it with a good brush and just kept doing all-up, all-down, all-left, and all-right strokes until it was very evenly covered. It's really hard to see in the second photo because I was still in the dark room (not exposed yet), but the coating is almost perfect. Not one drip. It will take a lot less exposure time also. Bottom line, this stuff works and works well if you know what you are doing. Nothing I hate more than reviews that are tainted with negative results making me afraid of a product when in actuality it's just their own deficiencies. I do appreciate those real reviews and those that take the time to write a real review.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: any clue on exposure time using a 500 watt halogen work light at 18 inches with lense of light out,and what was your exposure time**
A: You've probably already figured out what works best for your setup, but I thought I'd share my experience in case others come across this question. I found that with a 500 watt halogen lamp (UV glass and cage removed) at a 20" distance from the work I got amazing results at 13 minutes. This was in a completely blacked out room (other than red LED safety lights) with a piece of black poster board under the screen and a cheap piece of picture frame glass above.

**Q: Is the Sensitizer supposed to be a powder?**
A: Sensitizer is in a powder form because when mixed with water the chemicals start to change and eventually expire

**Q: What would I use to clean the screen?**
A: I use a cheap speedball screen cleaner or I just replace the screen

**Q: Will speedball photo emulsion remover work on this? or what else?**
A: I tried using the speedball daizo photo emulsion remover with this and no it didn't work but something that did work was a 1:1 solution of bleach and water. I just coated the screens with that solution, let them sit for about 15 minutes then pressure washed them and the emulsion came right off

### ⭐ I wanted to like this brand, but it was not meant to be.
*by B***N on June 3, 2017*

I believe strongly in integrity so this review is completely honest based on my experience. I think I may have been given a bad bottle of sensitizer, but that sort of thing should go through quality control. Prior to this I had gotten the speedball photo emulsion kit, worked perfectly, but it had expired so I needed more. I decided to give jacquard a chance. I followed the instructions just as they were given, photo sensitizer half filled with water, shaken well, and mixed thoroughly with the emulsion. Once said and done it was still a blue-green (turquoise if you will) color instead of the light green I had gotten with speedball, automatic red flags being raised, but I gave it a shot. Exposed with a 200w incandescent at about 2 feet distance for 60 minutes, the positive would not come out until the rest of the emulsion came out with it despite that it had been completely opaque and unlikely that light got to the screen through my design. Still, figuring It had been an error on my part, thinking perhaps I over exposed it, I tried again. I exposed the screen for 25 minutes (as recommended on the jacquard site with the right wattage and distance) and it still did not work. EVERYTHING washed out, luckily I was able to save the screen with what little emulsion remover I had left. I'm going to have to go back to speedball, I think. Jacquard, I would highly recommend you ensure your product actually works more often than not before selling it off. Or send different sensitizer because I can see from the reviews that I am not the only one with this issue.
