Review: KSO EVO vs KMD Sport vs V-Alpha - I’m brand new to Vibram FiveFingers, I’ve bought 3 different pairs. KMD Sport, KSO Evo, V-Alpha My intention was to use one for outdoor running, one for the gym, and one for at home exercises (p90x + insanity). The idea of working out fast-twitch muscles using your bodies natural movement, in order to prevent injury appealed to me, so I thought I would give it a shot. I have ran 5 marathons and a half-Ironman in the past, but I am preparing for a full-Ironman, I do not intend to run an Ironman in Vibram. This is a preliminary review since I have only had them a few weeks. All of the shoes I am very happy with, the biggest complaint I suppose would be the KMD Sport size ran larger than the others for me. The Velcro is at the very edge. The important question I think is which one is better for which purpose. Of the 3 that I have experience with, I chose the KMD sport for outdoor running, my reasoning is that the bottom of the shoe is much thicker than the others, so I felt that they would last longer. There is a trade-off, the KMD sport is slightly less flexible than the other two. KMD sport uses 2 velcro straps to get a good fit, the others use a nice lacing system, that I wish more shoes had. The experience of running in them is very unique, you can feel the surface much more than you can a regular shoes, the slightest curves of the road are felt and your feet adjust to it, small pebbles can be felt, but I had no issues running in them (I did start with shorter runs as recommended). I chose the V-Alpha for home exercises because I got the blue ones and, to be honest, they look too dorky to go outside with IMO. The v-alphas are very comfortable, but my foot is a little wide so I sense a little tension in the middle of my foot, but it is not bothersome at all. The material on the V-Alpha is unique, Not sure how to describe it but it is soft, smooth, flexible and seems to protect against the wind slightly better than the others. I could see how some people say it feels like you aren’t even wearing a shoe, except my foot is fairly wide so I do feel it... but it feels good. The KSO EVO are my favorites overall, and I have chosen them to use at the gym. They do everything well, but the bottom of the shoe has only a thin layer of protection, so I thought they might wear down too fast for outdoor running. They fit great, look great (got the black and red ones) and I don’t have the same (slight) issue as I do with the v-alphas due to my wide feet. Happy with all of them, they are all good for different purposes.
Review: EXCELLENT SHOE! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! - Unfortunately, Vibram has discontinued this model so About six months ago, I bought a $120 pair kmd evos with the laces instead of Velcro. It was comfortable, but the lace design is not only a snag hazard, but it’s garbage and they ended up tearing off at the seam after 6 months of use. The soles were still in great condition, but the shoe was now useless unless I wanted to duct tape the tops where the laces used to be. Also, the suede starts to stink pretty bad and never comes out no matter what. This led to me trying to track down a pair of the KMD sports which used to be my go toe shoe until it was discontinued. This is my third pair and each one before has lasted me at least two years of heavy use. They are great in the gym for doing squats and deadlifts, and they are great for running and trail use (you have to ease into them otherwise you’ll injure yourself and blame the shoe). I wear a 10.5 men’s shoe with a little room in the toe pocket, but the five fingers are more comfortable when they have a snug, not tight, fit. I wear a 43 (9.5-10) and it fits me perfect. A little snug at first, but perfect once broken in. The seller, OUTLAND USA, got this product out to me in less than the advertised time and it was as advertised. Also, they sold them too me at a great price. I would definitely purchase these shoes from them again!

I’m brand new to Vibram FiveFingers, I’ve bought 3 different pairs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love these shoes.

I've been a Vibram convert since my first pair purchased in 2011; which incidentally, haven't worn out and I'm still wearing. I have worn the Komodo Sport over many miles of back country travel in the Oregon Cascades. Wilderness cross country hiking is all about climbing; climbing over logs, climbing over boulders, climbing up scree and talus slopes, descending down grassy embankments.Wearing Vibrams allows me to grip the ground with my feet and toes, and on dry rock they lend an almost spider-man quality to my traction. They are virtually puncture resistant, but they afford almost zero protection if you kick a hard object like a a root stave in the trail. When you are wearing these you really need to watch your step. If you come down with a hard heel strike on a sharp stone you will definitely feel it. Also, being low cut, they can fill up with dirt, sand, or even small pebbles just walking through loose, soft, or wet soil. If you are a hunter or wild life photographer, these are the best stalking shoes since the moccasin. Also, if you enjoy speaking with total strangers just wear a pair of this around town. If my hair were on fire I believe it would be the Vibrams folks would want to ask me about. I've given so many personal endorsements of this product that the company should hire me as a spokesperson. So why only 4 not 5 stars? I've owned five pairs of Vibrams and every pair has been a 43 M EU. My latest pair is almost too tight to get on my feet. Maybe it's my feet that have changed and I shouldn't be blaming the manufacturer, but my latest pair of the shoes I love don't fit. I'll order a larger size next time.
