The weight is sewn inside the ribbon so that it will not scratch the inside of the saxophone. I can run the swabs one time through and my saxophone is clean and the cloth is not dripping wet. It comes with a great case that is well made and of good quality. The case is big enough to fit the cleaning swabs on 1 side and a case with extra reeds and a microfiber towel on the other side!
