I have wanted a cuckoo clock for a long time but didn't want to spend the $$$ to buy a German made one. This clock looks nice with its wood accents, however some of the parts are plastic (the door for the cuckoo, the time faceplate and the hands to the clock). Obviously, not the highest quality, but looks very nice and met my needs. The cuckoo sings on time and the forest sounds are nice. So far the clock is keeping excellent time and I love that the clock has a light sensor, so after lights go out, the cuckoo stays in his house and the clock is silent. Also like the fact that you can shut off the cuckoo completely if you don't want to listen to it every hour, but in my opinion if this is the case why buy a cuckoo clock? If you want an affordable, nice looking cuckoo clock and don't care if its made in Germany, this is a good alternative. You have to manually move it to 1:00, stop, let it cuckoo once. Then move to 2:00, stop, let it cuckoo twice.
