There is only a 10x10 centimeters area at the center of the drawer that can be used. At a 250 degrees setting, standard 60/40 solder (183 deg. melting point) will not even liquify at the edges of the working area.The push buttons are not de-bounced, and their response is sluggish with no tactile feeling at all.The product may be useable for a hobbyist, but for any serious manufacturing, avoid it.Still, I give it 3 out of 5 due to the low price.On a positive note, the purchase procedure worked flawlessly. Ordering and payment was straight forward, and the delivery was much faster than advertised with no transport damage. 5 stars to Amazon.Best regardsRostec Engineering ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better with alternative firmware :) *by W***J on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2014* For the price this is not bad at all. The firmware that this is shipped with is really really bad though, so I just had to do something about that. An alternative open-source firmware for the T-962 is the result. Details can be found here: https://github.com/UnifiedEngineering/T-962-improvements . I have not used it yet, but I have ran some test cycles and the smell that everyone complains about does not seem that bad to me. I saw all the bad reviews and looked on the internet and saw there was plenty of workaround that other users have came up with if my experiences are the same.
