Like most people I expect the case to be rugged enough to save my phone on impact, but rugged cases in the market go a little overboard with the rugged look, extra designs, faux carbon fibre textures. Not only that, they hide the design and coloured backs of the phone.This case can be considered the best of both worlds; with a transparent plain back and bumps only on the edges fro protection. The bumps provide a fair amount of lip over the screen, so the screen doesn't touch the surface when the phone is placed screen-down. If you see the pictures for comparison with the included case, you will notice that the thickness of this case is also more than that of the included case, thus providing better shock absorption and more rigidity. This case isn't likely to come off on its own unlike the included case which can sometimes come off if the edges of the phone get caught somewhere. The buttons on the case also work well and provide a good feedback.As far as the protection is concerned, I'm quite certain that this case will do the job. My only concern is that transparent cases tend to yellow/brown out after some time. Only time will tell how well it does in maintaining its transparency. I will update the review accordingly. No loss in firmness. Dropped the phone a few times with no dents and scratches.Slight yellowing has started across the centre - visible only under direct light.
