Review: This vacuum is so powerful, it would vacuum up an elephant!!! - This vacuum is so powerful, it would vacuum up an elephant!!! Exactly what I was hoping for! I have been using it mainly on linoleum floor that I did not glue down, but it stapled down at the edges. I was concerned that the vacuum was so strong that it would pull the linoleum sheet up off the floor. However, the flat-ened attachment (the one used for getting into small cracks) has a little air vent at the back of it. This allows it to not get stuck on the floor and suck up the linoleum sheet AND it is still very strong. I have also been using it to vacuum up large sand particles (the largest are about half the size of an eraser on a pencil) and it does a pretty good job with that as well. Have not used it on water yet. Have not used the blower. The hose is easy to use and malleable. It attaches and unattached easily- I store it unattached to the vacuum. The hose attachments are also great. On vacuums I have had in the past, the attachments don't stay on attached to the hose, but these don't fall off. The wheels are a little difficult to install, but once installed the vacuum rolls very easily. This vacuum did not come with the biggest mouthpiece attachment, as shown in the picture. I can't think of anything I don't like about this vacuum. Review: A Beast, Because You NEED a Beast - I don't use this for my day job, nor do I have a dedicated workshop. I'm a homeowner who grew tired of the small-diameter hose, underpowered, portable shop vacs that litter garages across the land. And, hard as it may be to accept, it takes a machine this large to actually serve as a reasonable home wet/dry vac. I knew this would have suction to spare. I was worried it might be too large for hallways in my house. But the width is just narrow enough, and the wheels make it easy to maneuver. I have toted it up and down stairs and out to the back yard without complaint. When I put it away, it takes up some space--but with its compact design, no more than it needs to. I have used it on sawdust after minor table saw work. I have used it for cleaning car interiors and cleaning the garage and cleaning an outdoor storage shed. I have removed the top to use it outside as a blower. It works great. And the various included attachments are truly useful. When it arrived, it was missing one of the attachments (so count them). But the customer support was excellent, and they sent a replacement right away (well done!). So. It sucks. It blows. In other words, it's practically perfect in every way. ## Features - Wet dry vacuum power head doubles as a high performance detachable leaf blower vacuum cleaner for added convenience and versatility - Large drain allows for easy liquid disposal on this RIDGID wet dry vacuum cleaner and blower vac - Caster feet allows for additional storage of accessories and the dual-flex locking hose on this RIDGID shop vacuum and blower - The compact drum size and side carry handles makes this RIDGID shop vacuum and blower easily portable and maneuverable when transporting - Patented Qwik-Lock filter makes filter changes for the RIDGID wet dry vacuum cleaner easy and eliminates the need for additional parts and tools ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B017EOLGBQ | | Amperage | 10 A | | Battery Description | Lithium-Ion | | Best Sellers Rank | #74,852 in Industrial & Scientific ( See Top 100 in Industrial & Scientific ) #99 in Commercial Wet-Dry Vacuum Accessories #170 in Wet-Dry Shop Vacuums #1,456 in Vacuum & Dust Collector Accessories | | Brand | RIDGID | | Brand Name | RIDGID | | Capacity | 12 gallons | | Color | Orange/Black | | Control Method | Touch | | Controller Type | Hand Control | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 158 Reviews | | Filter Type | Cartridge | | Form Factor | Handheld | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00648846021102 | | Hose Length | 8 feet | | Included Components | Vac, Wet Nozzle, Utility Nozzle, Car Nozzle, Hose, 2 Extension Wands, Filter, Dust Collection Bags | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Weight | 22 pounds | | Manufacturer | Emerson Tool Company | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Lifetime warranty. | | Model Name | 12 Gallon High Performance Wet/Dry Vac | | Model Number | VAC1200 | | Number of Handles | 2 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Power Levels | 1 | | Number of Wheels | 4 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Portable | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Recommended Uses For Product | Hard Floor, Carpet, Home, Garage, Tile Floor, Hardwood, Bare Floor | | Series Number | 12 | | Special Feature | Portable | | Style Name | canister | | Surface Recommendation | Drain | | UPC | 648846021102 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Voltage | 120 volts | | Wattage | 1000 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** RIDGID - **Filter Type:** Cartridge - **Power Source:** Corded Electric - **Special Feature:** Portable - **Surface Recommendation:** Drain ## Images ![Wet Dry Vacuums VAC1200 Heavy Duty Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Blower Vac, 12-Gallon, 5.0 Peak Horsepower Detachable Leaf Blower Vacuum Cleaner with Pro-Grade Hose - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61wXfMMh82L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does it have a drain that can be attached to a garden hose?** A: The drain is larger than the diameter of a garden hose. It does have threads, but it is too big to attach to a garden hose. The drain is also plastic. **Q: which difusser will fit this shop vac?** A: We have a muffler/diffuser VT2525 that will fit your 12 gallon VAC1200 found here https://www.amazon.com/Ridgid-72927-VT2525-Noise-Muffler/dp/B0000302TY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479162363&sr=8-2&keywords=VT2525 If you have further questions or concerns, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 or email us at info@ridgidvacs.com Thank you,RIDGID Customer Support **Q: replacement lock valve for the blower. how can I buy this separately?** A: Check the Ridgid website & looks up using the model number **Q: What type of generator does it require to use?** A: Both vac and leaf blower work off household current but I guess any standard gas generator with a110 outlet should do you. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This vacuum is so powerful, it would vacuum up an elephant!!! *by L***P on February 9, 2016* This vacuum is so powerful, it would vacuum up an elephant!!! This one caught my eye because of the blower attachment. Likes: * The blower mode is stupid awesome. I switched it over in about a minute and cleared my whole driveway in one pass. * Suction is crazy good on wet stuff. I sucked up a few inches of water from a clogged gutter bucket and it didn't even strain. * The filter swap is zippy. No tools, no extra parts, just pop the old one off and snap a new one on. * It's a big drum but the side handles make it easy enough to carry up my basement stairs by myself. * The hose has some heft to it and doesn't kink up when I'm dragging it across the driveway. No likes: * The casters are kind of screwy. Two of mine don't roll great on carpet and it drags a little. * This thing is loud. Like ear protection loud, especially indoors. * The drain plug leaks a tiny bit if you don't get it seated just right, so you gotta double check it. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: This is a good dual-purpose machine for anyone doing yard work and shop cleanup with the same garage space. The blower feature isn't a gimmick, it pushed wet leaves clear off the driveway without slowing down. Just expect it to be heavy and loud when you're running it. ## Frequently Bought Together - RIDGID Wet Dry Vacuums VAC1200 Heavy Duty Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Blower Vac, 12-Gallon, 5.0 Peak Horsepower Detachable Leaf Blower Vacuum Cleaner with Pro-Grade Hose - RIDGID VT2534 7-Piece Auto Detailing Vacuum Hose Accessory Kit for 1 1/4 Inch RIDGID Vacuums,Black - WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vacs 2.5" Muffler/Diffuser --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/82465867-wet-dry-vacuums-vac1200-heavy-duty-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/82465867-wet-dry-vacuums-vac1200-heavy-duty-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
