I wanted something classic in style to go with both jeans and dresses. The critical features for me were comfort and a narrower opening at the calf. My legs are on the thin side, so a lot of boots this style don't look right on me because they gap around the calves. I still had extra room in these, so it's not like they're tiny in the leg, but they are cut narrow enough to look sleek rather sloppy. MUCH appreciated. They're also much more comfortable than the similarly-styled pair they're replacing--true to size, and I can wear them all day without pain (my job involves several hours of walking and standing per day, so they've been tested). They took no breaking in whatsoever--perfectly comfortable from day one. Thus far, they're also holding up well, so I'd say the quality is great for the money. In short, these aren't showstoppers, but they are very nice, classically styled boots that work well for every day or for going out. A great wardrobe staple, and a flattering fit for thinner legs. Very happy! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic! *by A***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2013* I've been searching for a pair of dressy black high heel boots to replace a pair of Naturalizers that I bought several years ago and that have since worn out and have been discontinued. These boots were it - and much cheaper! The style and fit is almost exactly the same with a feminine heel, nicely shaped toe box (even better than my Naturalizers which I found a little too pointy), the same soft fabric-like fitted shaft, and the same light-weight comfort. The shaft is unlined, very snug and a little stretchy, which is exactly what I was looking for. These are obviously not real leather (the pleather actually looks better when you're wearing the boots than in the photo) and not top quality construction but for the price, the style and comfort, it's an excellent deal.EDIT: Maybe I'm just sensitive to smells, but I'm removing one star for the bad petroleum smell of the synthetic leather. Hopefully the boots will off-gas over time and the smell will go away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very cute boots with soft leather and slim calves *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2015* I love how these boots look! The higher heel gives them a classy look that can be worn with skirts or to dress up a pair of jeans. The B width foot is a fairly comfortable fit for my wide C/D feet, although after 3 hours or so I eased them off for a few minutes as they were starting to hurt. I really like how snug the top of the calf is to my leg. It's not tight, but there is no gap between my leg and the boot. I have 15"calves. When I first put them on I noticed that the ankles were very roomy. The material is very soft, and after several hours' wear the ankles looked slouchy. It's not a bad look but I preferred the slim straight line I saw when I first tried them on.
